Skype has recently introduced a new call option for users on desktop and Android devices, which is expected to be rolled out on other platforms as well.

The new feature is called “Click to Call” and allows users to quickly call companies that they have found through searching the web.

Obviously, in order to do that you will need a valid Skype account and you will also have to be log in to your PC or phone.

“Imagine you’re tracking a parcel on your computer and you need to call the delivery company. Simply find their number online, which Skype 'Click to Call' will have highlighted for you, then select Call from mobile and the number will be sent to Skype on your mobile.

Just pick up your mobile, swipe and start the call without ever having to type in any numbers,” explains Skype in a blog post.

Make sure to install the plug-in on your desktop app

If you want to give the new feature a try you will have to download and install the “Click to Call” plug-in on your desktop, search for a specific phone number on the web and select “Call from Mobile” option.

The number will then be automatically redirected to to Skype on your Android device, so make sure you have the application up an running.

Keep in mind that some of the calls that you will make using this feature won't be free, but Skype will mark all calls that are free to call from your mobile so you won't have to worry about this.

If you don't have the application yet, you can now download Skype for Android for free via Google Play Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 2.3 and up.

It's also worth mentioning that the “Call from Mobile” option is still in beta, so it's unclear when exactly it will be rolled out to other platforms.
