And some other new features

Skype Technologies, the developer that has revolutionized the VoIP industry, is full of surprises. The company's strategy to encourage the development of Skype extensions by other companies has begun to pay off, and yet nother two products of this type are now available for the users.

Thus, the Santa Cruz Networks company has launched vSkype Beta, a videoconferencing
and online collaboration software, which can be downloaded at and allows for up to 200 Skype users to be connected in the same time. One of the program's greatest assets is that it offers a very high quality of the image, which is correlated though with the user's type of connection.

Another very interesting innovation is that of the Norwegians from IPdrum, called Skype Mobile Cable, which has the purpose of connecting a PC running Skype with a cell phone's data port. In this way, the user is able to make phone calls through Skype, without having to remain near the computer. The only requirement is a second cell phone, used to call the one connected to the computer, thus enabling VoIP conversations to be carried out at just the price of a normal call. The best solution in this case is to have a cell phone plan that grants free calls to phones on the same mobile network.

Taking into consideration all these innovations, we're looking forward to the moment when we'll be able to make even video calls, using 3G phones and Skype, and it's very likely that we won't have to wait too long.
