Today, BlackBerry and Microsoft have officially announced the availability of Skype for the owners of BlackBerry Z10 devices.

The mobile client was announced for BlackBerry 10.1 smartphones late last month, though only BlackBerry Q10 users had access to it until now.

However, following the official release of the new OS flavor to Z10 handsets out there, access to the software has been expanded to all those users who will update to the new OS flavor.

“Today, as the BlackBerry 10.1 operating system starts to roll out on the BlackBerry Z10, we are happy to announce that Z10 users around the world will now be able to enjoy the preview version of Skype on their devices,” Skype notes in a blog post.

Users should keep in mind that Skype for BlackBerry 10 is still only a preview flavor, and that they might encounter issues with it.
