Microsoft has recently announced that the Skype Community has reached 2 million registered users, which is just another indication that more users are discovering the benefits of the Skype VoIP service.

A post on the official Skype blog today reveals that the Skype Community, which is the perfect place to ask questions and get answers on topics regarding the communications platform owned by Microsoft, claims that the number of users who go to the forums to get information on features or technical problems is growing with every month.

“With over two million users registered, you can also count on the Skype Community for help with any technical hiccups you might encounter. No matter how small the issue, chances are you’ll find someone who has had a similar experience,” the company said.

Skype is one of Microsoft's key products on the long term, as the company continues the transition to devices and services, so offering a powerful VoIP platform to customers is clearly a priority. Skype is now available across a wide array of platforms, including Windows, Windows 8, BlackBerry, iOS, Android, Mac OS X, and others, with all clients offered free of charge.

At the same time, Skype is also the default messaging client in Windows starting with Windows 8.1, as Microsoft has decided to completely abandon the default app allowing users to chat over the Internet.
