Microsoft released a new version of Skype for the Modern UI earlier today, but it appears that the software giant has also completed development of another build of the desktop as well.

Skype 6.14.59.104 is thus available for download right now, providing Windows users with a series of improvements and bug fixes that are supposed to contribute to an overall more stable experience on all supported versions of the operating system, including Windows 7 and Windows 8.1.

There are no major changes beside a new interface for the conversation window, which now comes with conversation balloons instead of the classic layout, thus making the entire design look a bit more appealing for desktop users.

Everything else is pretty much unchanged, so you get the same feature-rich VoIP client, with options to start new video or voice calls, send text messages, insert emoticons in your conversations, and transfer files from one user to another with ease.

No other release notes have been provided until now, but we’ll update this article accordingly when Microsoft publishes an official changelog.

Overall, this is just a minor update that changes the conversation window a little bit, so download Skype 6.14.59.104 right now to try out the new design.
