14 DAY TRIAL // Skype Communications is offering a new version of the Skype iOS client with new features and improvements, including a tweak for iPhone 5s customers in particular.
iOS users who download Skype 4.17.1 will be able to receive chat messages even when the application is closed. They will notice that chat messages now sync faster, and HD video calls are now supported on iPhone 5s and improved.
The system requirement for using Skype 4.17.1 is iOS 5 or newer. To send and receive video using the front or back camera, you need iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c, or iPod Touch 4th-generation, and iPod Touch 5th-generation.
The app works with H264 compatible devices, including TVs. Some basic features are also usable on iPhone 3GS units. Supported languages include English, Chinese, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Swedish.
