More tweaks and bug fixes from the Skype Group

The Skype Group has updated its program that allows users to call their Skype friends via the Internet, free of charge. Version 2.7.0.330 highlights include added support for NAT-PMP, uPnP, and Authenticated Proxy and increased minimum size of SkypeOut Caller Window. More than 35 bug fixes are also in order for the latest version of Skype for Mac.

Skype uses P2P (peer-to-peer) technology to connect users for online talk. The calls have very good sound quality, while end-to-end encryption keeps your information confidential. Users don't need to configure a firewall or router, or any other networking gear. Besides Chat, Skype also does instant messaging and file transfer. So, let's see more highlights from version 2.7.0.330 for Mac, shall we?

Released just yesterday, Skype 2.7.0.330 replaces SkypeIn with Online Number; the New User Registration Window: By default, eMail notifications is now checked; a pop-up dialog to enable or disable Address Book integration has been introduced; sometimes duration of some calls was displayed as 1193 hours in the call history - not anymore; many other bug fixes are also included.

The sound event for contact coming online is now off by default, while Skype API: BTN_RELEASED NO clears quickfilter field now (previously removed only the last character). As far as the most annoying bugs are concerned, Mac Skype users should be glad to learn that there will be no more delay when hanging up video call. "Add to Contacts" command now works for 1-on-1 chats in history view and yellow alerts don't hide chat topics anymore.

Requirements call for a Macintosh computer with G3, G4, G5 or Intel processor, 128 MB RAM, 20 MB free disk space on your hard drive, a microphone and, of course, an Internet connection (either dial-up: minimum 33.6 Kbps, or any broadband: cable, DSL, etc.).
