Two days ago Skype announced the availability of Skype 2.6 for Android with file sending, improved graphics and better video on NVIDIA Tegra2.

However, among the new features and improvements offered by this version of Skype, a critical issue has insinuated that made the application unusable for those who own Android 2.1 devices.

Fortunately, Skype has just released a fix that will correct this issue that affected Android 2.1 (Éclair) smartphones.

This small update fixes the Skype crashing on Android 2.1 devices, as well as bug that made the application display a white screen when started from Recent applications list.

In addition, it corrects a problem with video capabilities that were not updated when upgrading from previous version on some devices, including the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

It is recommended to update to the latest version of Skype via Android Market.
