Skype users who are still using Symbian devices can now download and install version 2.1.23 of the application on their devices.

The release is not a new one, but it is said to offer support for Symbian Belle FP2 handsets, including the Nokia 808 PureView and Nokia 701.

The application has been pushed to Nokia Store once again, but only with the already available features packed inside, namely chatting and voice calls.

There’s no video calling available for this application on Symbian, nor is it expected to arrive on devices anytime soon, AllAboutSymbian notes.

Those who download and install the app will see that it offers Skype-to-Skype calls and IM on 3G or Wi-Fi, and that it also comes with video and photo sharing capabilities.

Calls and texts (SMS) to phones abroad are cheaper with Skype than they are on carrier’s networks.

Skype for Symbian is available on Softpedia via this link.
