Chris Wilson, a producer working on Skylanders: Swap Force, says that the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 versions of the game will run at a native 1080p resolution in order to offer improved quality graphics.

He says that the entire engine of the game has been designed from the ground up to take advantage of the improved computing power offered by the new Sony and Microsoft devices.

Wilson tells The Official Xbox Magazine that the new technology will allow the team to include “volumetric water, dynamic lighting with ambient occlusion, physics, high levels of antialiasing/anisotropic filtering, and the biggie – parallax occlusion mapping, a cutting edge effect used to procedurally create 3D definition in textured surfaces.”

Skylanders brings together real-world toys and virtual experiences, and the new Swap Force expansion allows gamers to mix parts in order to get new combinations of superpowers.
