14 DAY TRIAL // Video game publisher Activision Blizzard has announced that the Skylanders brand will get its first full expansion during the autumn of the year, using the Giants name that a number of rumors have been suggesting for some time.
The new expansion will introduce eight new legendary Giant characters that are twice as big as those you can pick up now and will also get access to new, impressive special abilities.
There are also eight new normal characters added to the game.
In the real world the Giants will also glow when placed near the Portal of Power using new technology that does not require batteries.
Development duties on the new virtual adventures of the Giants will be handled by the Toys for Bob studio of Activision and the publisher says that they are aiming for integration on consoles, handhelds, mobile device and online platforms.
Activision has not yet revealed the names of the powers of either the Giants or the new normal Skylanders.
