All it needs is for the other drone to be within Wi-Fi distance

Drones is a word generally used by the media to describe little machines, flying or ground based, that carry out certain straightforward tasks. SkyJack is a bit more sophisticated though, since it's basically a hunter for its own kind.

And by that I mean to say that SkyJack is a hacker drone designed specifically to hack other drones.

As long as the target is within the range of its Wi-Fi field, it can bring it under its control.

Assuming that said drone has Wi-Fi of its own, which is almost a given because you can't really control them from afar otherwise.

Interestingly, SkyJack is made of only a Parrot AR.Drone 2, a Raspberry Pi, a USB battery, an Alfa AWUS036H wireless transmitter and some other little things.

Samy Kamkar is the one who invented it (and gave it its name after the software he invented) after hearing about Amazon's plan to use flying drones for deliveries. The best part? SkyJack is autonomous. It'll hunt and enthrall drones independently.
