A new version of the Skyfire web browser for iPad is out enabling families to hot-swap between accounts to find their personal settings, bookmarks, social network logins, and more, when they pick up the tablet.

Skyfire Labs’ app was originally marketed with its Flash-playing capabilities but the software is, in all senses, a full-fledged web browser.

In addition to playing Flash content on your iDevice for five bucks that you only pay once (3,99 € in European App Stores), the browser now introduces a new HotSwap feature that has been designed specifically for families using a single iPad.

The developers say HotSwap allows family and friends to “share an iPad and ‘swap’ to their own personal profile and have their bookmarks, open tabs, social network logins, email accounts and settings reappear just as they left them!”

“HotSwap eliminates the tedious five minute log-out, log-in and set-up process required each time the iPad changes hands in your family, enabling immediate access to personal browsing preferences and social settings for up to four separate users,” Skyfire Labs elaborates.

“Simply leave the iPad on the coffee table for the next user to ‘swap’ to their profile - finally a solution to the ‘shared iPad’ problem,” reads the iTunes description. “Put the “i” back in your family’s iPad with Skyfire for iPad and HotSwap!”

Skyfire uses a Video Recommendation Engine which intelligently suggests related videos based on the content the user is browsing.

The developers ask customers to understand that Skyfire was meant for Flash video, not Flash games and apps. As such, the company urges customers to read all the info about the app before they make their purchase.
