Recently, Skyfire announced the release of a new version of Skyfire for iPhone, with support for more features, and with an availability expanded to more countries around the world, so as to offer even more users the possibility to enjoy on their devices an increasingly popular mobile browser.

According to a recent post on the company's blog, the new Skyfire 2.1 version comes with improved coverage for many video sites, in addition to adding some new, appealing features into the mix, in an attempt to making the browsing experience much better for end users.

At the same time, the company announced the availability of Skyfire 2.1 in more countries around the world.

Skyfire 2.1 was made available not only for users in the US and Canada, but for those living in the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand as well. Not to mention that the company plans adding even more countries into the mix in the near future.

Among the novelties that were included in this Skyfire release, we can count:

- Twitter Quickview: Allows you to quickly peek into your Twitter stream while browsing. This is similar to the existing Facebook Quickview feature. - Extended sharing: Now share not just via Email and Facebook but to Twitter, GReader, Instapaper, Pinboard, Read It Later and Tumblr as well. - Open in new tab: Touch-and-hold a link to open it in a new tab. This also helps by force–loading a page with a video to allow you to view it.

But this is not all, as the new Skyfire 2.1 also comes with a series of enhancements, the company notes on its website.

One of these enhancements would be the improved video coverage, which now also includes sites that require a log-in, as well as sites supporting HTML5. Users can check their favorite site in ‘Desktop’ mode.

Other enhancements include:

- Better cookie support: Sites will work more reliably. - Simpler Mobile/Desktop page switching: When switching Skyfire will reload the original page without having to re-type the URL. - Better Bookmarking: Simpler bookmark management including editing, renaming, creating, etc.

The new version of Skyfire for iPhone was already included into the App Store, the company notes.
