There are quite a few possible titles they may announce

Developer Skybox Labs is well known for its work on some of the most beloved real-time strategy games in the history of the genre: Rise of Nations, Age of Mythology and Age of Empires II.

Obviously, the folks over at Skybox Labs did not actually develop these games because their studio has only been founded in 2011, long after all the three titles mentioned above were launched on PC.

However, they have brought at least two of those games to Steam and added some visual improvements to make them more appealing to the new generation of strategy game players.

Skybox Labs has worked on Rise of Nations: Extended Edition for PC, the game that was released on Steam in June 2014. Aside from the fact that it contains the base game and the Thrones and Patriots expansion, the Extended Edition also comes with some improved visuals (textures, water, full-screen anti-aliasing).

The same goes for Age of Mythology, which was released on Steam with all its expansions and some graphics enhancements that some may consider too minimal to justify the re-release and/or the high price.

Skybox Labs is also one of the developers of the last expansion for Age of Empire II HD: The Forgotten, along with Ensemble Studios and Hidden Path Entertainment.

The studio has an extensive experience in porting strategy games

They have also assisted Team Dakota in bringing Project Spark to Xbox One. Well, it looks like they have a busy schedule in 2015 as well, with no less than 4 unannounced games in development.

Two of these games will be launched on PC (Steam), while one will be aimed at Samsung Gear VR device. Last but not least, Skybox Labs also has an Xbox One exclusive title in development, which hasn’t been announced yet.

Given the studio’s experience in porting strategy games to other platforms, it won’t come as a surprise if their next Xbox One title will be of the same genre.

There are so many titles that we could speculate on (Halo Wars 2) that it would be better if we waited for the developer’s official announcement. Until then though, feel free to share your take on the next Xbox One exclusive coming from Skybox Labs.
