As we've stated two months ago, in article about the upcoming features of GNOME 3.6, the GNOME developers will implement support for Microsoft's cloud service, SkyDrive, in the Documents application.

Two months later, on May 31st, Debarshi Ray, a developer for the GNOME Project, announced on his blog that initial support for SkyDrive has been implemented in the daily builds of the GNOME Documents app, via the GNOME Online Accounts software by using a Windows Live account.

Support for Windows Live was implemented in GNOME 3.4, but in the upcoming GNOME 3.6, due for release in September, this will be integrated with GNOME Documents to provide access to documents stored in an Microsoft SkyDrive account.

Native support for SkyDrive in Linux is a good thing in my opinion, especially that there aren't many cross-platform could services out there.

Personally, I just can't wait for this to be implemented in GNOME 3.6, so I will give it a try from the GIT sources of the gnome-online-accounts, gnome-documents and libzapojit packages.
