Members of the Syrian Electronic Army have managed to hijack a couple of Twitter accounts and a Facebook page of Sky News Arabia.

The affected Twitter accounts were Sky News Arabia (@SkyNewsArabia) and Sky News Arabia Arts and Culture (@SkyNewsArabia_C). The hacktivists also took over the skynewsarabia Facebook page.

Sky News Arabia representatives have told PressGazette that they've regained control of the hacked accounts and that they’re taking precautionary measures to make sure their systems are properly secured.

The channel has refused to comment on the damages caused by the incident. All the posts published by the hackers have been removed.

In the meantime, the Syrian Electronic Army have published a video showing some of the messages they posted while they were in control of the Twitter accounts.
