After being harassed by the media for her ever-slimming frame and collapsing in the middle of the street a couple of times, for no possible explanation, Nicole Richie has thrown in the towel and called it a day. And, by that, she means that she finally accepted that she has a problem and would seek professional help.

Nicole, the star of the E! Entertainment reality show 'The Simple Life', has been the permanent target of the media for her abnormal body weight for a while now but both she and her father, Lionel Richie, have always denied her having an eating disorder.

The problem, according to her representative, is not that she's not eating; it's that she can't seem to be able to gain weight no matter how much she eats. For that she is seeking help, going to doctors and speaking to various famed nutritionists, he told the press today.

'She is working with a team of doctors and specialists whose focus is nutrition. It is important to Nicole that she achieve this goal in a healthy way, but this is not a treatment for an eating disorder', the publicist stated, adding that his client has already entered a facility in order to obtain visible results faster.

'The Simple Life' producers also issued a statement, wishing tiny Nicole all the best in her endeavor to gain pounds: 'Everyone supports Nicole and wishes her well. We consider her a part of our family and look forward to resuming production on "The Simple Life" when she is ready'.
