Rumors and people's hopes have brought the iWatch to everyone's attention and other rumors now say that the smartwatch-like device is delayed.

We have not seen any leaks, parts or photos of the first rumored iWatch so far. However, everyone hopes that Apple will enter this market just to show the other manufacturers how a real smartwatch is supposed to be done. LG and Samsung have their own devices on the retail store shelves, but the poor quality and the overall bad design have had customers shy away from them.

The most beautiful prototype so far was presented by Motorola. The Moto 360 has a round display with a design problem. The screen is not actually 360 degrees, but rather 270 degrees with the base of the screen cut off. It also is bulky enough so that many customers will wait for the second generation.

Motorola did not announce the release date of its device, and Apple didn't even mention they were working on something like that. However, the Cupertino tech giant has hired numerous people coming from either the fitness technology industry, from the watch industry and from luxury goods market.

According to a new report posted by a Chinese website, Apple has sent a memo to the supply chain players that they need to deliver the parts to the manufacturers as early as September. There's no word on whether Apple's traditional partners in China like Pegatron and Foxconn will pick up this tab or if Apple will work in the US or South-American factories for the new device.

The same sources mentioned that the initial order for the iWatch would go around 1 million units per month. It is estimated that the production of the first batch will probably take up to two months to complete.

The initial rumors about a smartwatch-like device coming to the stores before Christmas may not be accurate after all. Apple may only launch it in the US in time for the Winter holidays. A recent report coming from KGU Securities' analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has mentioned a possible delay in the iWatch release date.

However, the unconfirmed rumors may be shattered by Apple with an announcement as soon as September 9, along with the next-generation iPhone launch.

People familiar with Apple’s plans have detailed that the iWatch will have a square screen, just like the old iPod nano and will include a handful of sensors to complete the iPhone. The rumored iWatch will not be depending on the iPhone to work, but it will rather be a complementary device.
