A health inspector visiting an abandoned house in Lille, France, this Friday, got a real life Halloween experience when he discovered the skeleton of a man, still wearing his pyjamas.

The man apparently died in bed, which is where he was found. Experts believe he has been dead for at least 15 years.

Authorities searching the scene found unopened correspondence dating back to 1996. The man is believed to be the elder owner of the house in which he was found, who lived alone and had no relatives. He was of Spanish origin, and was born in 1921.

According to the Daily Mail, his death was not deemed suspicious by examiners.

“There was no mess. The house was locked from the inside. Nothing suggests a criminal act,” public safety official Didier Perroudon stated.
