A bunch of big-name independent developers have banded together to create the Indie Mac Gift Pack, a 6-app bundle that they are selling themselves (no middle man) for just $60. By buying the apps as standalone products, customers would spend some $272.

The applications in question are:

Delicious Library 2 - track your collections Acorn 2 - Image editor MarsEdit 3 - Write, preview, publish your blog Radioshift - Listen, record radio stations SousChef - Search over 195,000 recipes Sound Studio 4 - Record, edit and produce audio

Described as “Six great pieces of amazing, well-reviewed, award-winning software Mac software from indie developers,”  all six apps are priced at the no more than $60 as a bundle, so the developers thought you’d ask: “what's the catch?”

According to the FAQ posted at indiemacgiftpack.com, “No catch! For serious. The six of us wanted to do a promotion for the many December holidays, and this was what we decided was a good price for gifting.”

All the versions are up to date, the devs claim, while those who buy the bundle get the same upgrade pricing (if any) that they offer to people who paid full price for the apps.

Notably, SoundStudio 4 by itself costs more than the actual bundle.

According to the six-pack, “even one of the developer's girlfriends is planning on buying the bundle, even though she could get the software just by asking.”

Assuring customers that everything is legit, the coders explain that “There's no middleman here: we're six friends who own our own independent Mac companies, and we decided we'd band together and do this promotion and see if it works for us. We're splitting all the loot between us, even-stevens. Now it's up to you!”

Those who decide to make the purchase get an email with a gift box. By clicking on the gift box, customers are taken to “a pretty page” with download links to the six applications, as well as six (serial) keys.
