They might be unlockable or might be added via DLC

Players have announced that they have found evidence of six characters that are locked down on the game disk for Tekken Tag Tournament 2.

The new characters included on the game disk are:

- Miharu Hirano, who is the best friend of Ling Xiaoyu and one of the palette swaps in Tekken 4; - Doctor Boskonovitch, the man who created many other characters and was playable in Tekken 3; - Slim Bob, a new version of a familiar character; - Sebastian, who is Lili’s butler; - Violet, the alter ego of Lee Chaolan from Tekken 4; - Unknown, who is a boss character in the arcade version of Tekken Tag Tournament 2.

It’s not clear whether Namco Bandai has included the new characters in order to allow players to unlock them via in-game actions or whether the company plans to take a page out of the playbook of rival Capcom and only offer them to those willing to pay for DLC.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 launches on the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 on September 11 in the United States and September 14 in Europe.
