American Honda Motor Co., Inc. is now offering Siri Eyes Free as a dealer-installed accessory for select Honda and Acura models, such as the 2013 -2014 Honda Accord and 2013 Acura RDX and ILX.

Customers can waltz in a dealership and demand to have Siri Eyes Free installed to be able to keep their eyes on the road and handle messages and emails, set up calendar entries, reminders, and alarms, check the weather, get turn-by-turn voice navigation, get sports scores and stock quotes, and more.

Some additional functionality will be revealed Tuesday, December 3, 2013, according to Honda.

Just so you don’t drive over to your dealership to learn that you need to buy a new iDevice, keep in mind that Siri is only available on iPhones starting with the 4S model. iPads with Siri start at the 3rd-generation model (the first one with a Retina display). iPod touch (5th generation) also sports Siri.

Art St. Cyr, vice president of product planning and logistics, American Honda, said “Honda recognizes the power of Siri Eyes Free to meet connectivity and convenience needs of its customers in a responsible manner.”

“With technology becoming further integrated into people's lives, we are happy to provide next-generation connectivity and meet our customer's ever-changing needs,” the VP added.
