Chevrolet has announced that the Spark (1LT, 2LT) and the Sonic LTZ and RS would be the first cars to integrate Siri through the standard Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system.
Customers with a “compatible” iPhone (meaning iPhone 5 or iPhone 4S) running iOS 6, will be able to “direct” Siri to perform a series of tasks while safely keeping their hands on the steering wheel and their eyes on the road. The Eyes Free mode enables users to interact with Siri using only their voice.
Eliminating the need to long-press the Home button to activate the assistant, drivers can pair Siri with the MyLink radio via Bluetooth and use the steering wheel voice activation button to begin and end sessions.
Car owners will be able to make hands-free calls, play songs in the iTunes library (including switch music sources automatically from AM/FM/XM radio to iPod mode), compose and send messages, listen to messages, access Calendar and add appointments, and much more.
