The developers of Evi, a Siri alternative for iPhone 4 and older devices (including the iPad and iPod touch), caused a bit of a stir when they said Apple had plans to remove their app from iTunes. It appears they were a bit hasty to say that.

According to people familiar with the situation, the app will remain in Apple’s App Store and Cupertino will try to “work with the developers on bumping out those similarities, rather than just pulling the product,” The Verge reports.

Evi is said to be violating section 8.3 of the App Store Review Guidelines which specifically state that “Apps which appear confusingly similar to an existing Apple product or advertising theme will be rejected.” In the meanwhile, you can download Evi using this here link.
