Heather Mills is "bored" by questions about her marriage to Sir Paul McCartney

Heather Mills, ex-wife of Sir Paul McCartney, has delivered the perfect explanation for a hilarious thing that happened in January this year, after his collaboration with Rihanna and Kanye West, “FourFiveSeconds,” came out, when Kanye’s fans wondered on social media who he was: Paul McCartney is irrelevant.

The former Beatle and Mills, a former award-winning skier turned activist, were married from 2002 to 2006, with their divorce becoming final in 2008. The split was anything but amicable, and it seems that she has had just about enough of being asked about the now-defunct marriage.

Mills gets defensive, says she’s more relevant than her ex-husband

Heather was recently on Ireland’s The Late Late Show, and the question of her marriage to McCartney came up. As you can see in the video below, she got very defensive about it, saying she found the whole thing very “boring” because it happened a very long time ago, it was not something out of the ordinary (divorce is a common occurrence these days, isn’t it?), and both had moved on.

Still, she did not waste a perfect opportunity to throw some shade at the legendary musician, even saying that he was no longer relevant. Even worse, she added, she was more relevant than he was these days.

“If I go down the street, all I get is kids coming up to me, half of them don’t even know who he is. That’s why he has to do songs with Rihanna and Kanye West, so people remember. But you know, most of the time I have people coming down the street and saying, ‘Oh my god! You’re a ski-racer’ or ‘You help the animals.’ I own the biggest vegan company in the world. Most of the money I do goes into helping animals, disabled kids, landmine clearing charities… You know, things that are changing the world,” Mills said.

She added, “This is just someone I fell in love with who to me was a normal guy that happened to write a few cool songs in the 60s and a few in the 70s. It was just someone I fell in love with.”

Paul McCartney, in her view, stopped doing anything noteworthy in the ‘80s and even if he hadn’t, he would still not be able to hold a candle to her because he wasn’t doing anything that “changed the world.”

Still, she does have a point

As painful as it might be to admit, Mills does have a point: many of the kids these days have no idea who he is, which explains why they all rushed to social media (instead of just Googling his name) to ask who he was or, even worse, to praise Kanye for giving him a shot at international fame.

You can see some choice samples from Twitter below, under Mills’ interview.

However, even if she has a point when she says that McCartney has to do songs with Rihanna and Kanye West so that the younger audiences know his name, she’s completely wrong when she says that she’s more relevant than he is.

Heather Mills’ accomplishments are no joke and her efforts with various charities in the past several years are very, very important. However, chances of her walking down the street and being recognized are slim to none, unless, of course, this happens in her home town.

As far as celebrity and popularity go, she’s got nothing on Paul McCartney. Still, she throws shade much better than he ever will or would be inclined to.
