After speaking about contemporary so-called 'artists' and accusing them of not being hip and rock'n'roll, neither in their choices of fashion, nor in their music, Sir Elton John has a sudden change of heart and says that his next album will be a hip-hop one.
The 59-year-old controversial star claims that the next logical step for him would be that of bringing his songs to hip-hop beats and the only way to do this is to collaborate with big names like Snoop Dog, Eminem and Dr. Dre.
But Elton is well aware that such a drastic change might not have the anticipated results: 'It may be a disaster, it could be fantastic, but you don't know until you try. I want to work with Pharrell, Timbaland, Snoop, Kanye, Eminem and just see what happens'. But he will go on with the project, never mind its outcome.
The sound that Sir Elton John is going for is something similar to 'No Diggity' from Blackstreet, but he hasn't talked to Dr. Dre about it yet. Until now, the singer's only brush with the world of hip-hop was when he performed 'Stan' with Eminem at the 2001 Grammy Awards.
'The Captain and the Kid', Elton's latest album (the sequel from the 1975 album, 'Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirty Cowboy') will be out next month.
