Last week, Rihanna taped an interview on Jonathan Ross, to promote a new single and her role in the upcoming “Battleship” film. We now have video – check it out below, embedded at the end of the article.

Ever since she shot to international fame under Jay-Z's umbrella, Rihanna has been constantly pitted against every other successful pop star out there, from Beyonce to Katy Perry, to Britney Spears and Lady Gaga.

It's only normal for this to happen, she tells Ross. Women are even more competitive than men but, unlike them, they're better at hiding the envy they feel when they come out second.

Rihanna also talks a bit about her personal life, partially denying reports that she's back with Chris Brown.

She's single, she says, and she hates it.

No matter what people say, single life is overrated. Rihanna finds it ironic that, whenever you're in a relationship, you dream of being single again and then, when that happens, you want to be with someone.

“Single life is so overrated. It sucks. I have such incredible experiences in my life. You don’t want to live your life and then meet someone. You want to share your life with someone. That’s what I’m missing right now,” she says.

With all this, she's not “looking” for love. If it were to cross her path, her ideal man would have to be “somebody cool, fun, funny.”

In the same interview, Rihanna also talks a bit about her plans for 2012 and, believe it or not, music is not really at the top of her priorities.

Having made her debut in front of the camera in “Battleship,” Rihanna wants to give acting a proper try and see if she can get a career in it off the ground.

So, this year, she will not be working on new music, focusing instead on other projects, music videos and, most importantly of all, films.
