Video game developer Wargaming.net has announced that it is getting ready to introduce fighters to their MMO World of Warplanes, with the United States, the Soviet Union and Germany all getting access to nimble, fast and well-armed flying machines.

Simulated planes added to the game include the P-51 Mustang, P-39 Airacobra, La-5 and Bf 109, best suited for one-on-one dogfights, group attacks on bombers and offensive reconnaissance work.

Anton Sitnikau, who is a World of Warplanes producer, has stated when the announcement was made that, “People love fighters for the freedom they give. They have tremendous speed coupled with superb nimbleness that make them a hard target yet a deadly threat for other classes.”

The final version of World of Warplanes will include single engine fighters, heavy two-engine planes for escort and assault duty, and strafing aircraft that are a direct threat to ground targets.

World of Warplanes is currently in alpha stage with beta set to be launched soon.
