Actor and R&B singer Raz-B, the founding member of boyband B2K and also its most high profile one, is now in a coma. He was involved in a violent altercation the other day and, as his rep confirms, would not wake up the morning after.

Raz-B, real name is De’Mario Monte Thornton, did not provoke the fight: he was merely trying to stop it when everything started going downhill, TMZ reports.

Oddly enough, he received medical assistance afterwards for the injuries he sustained and was cleared to go home. The same media outlet also has a photo of the bloodied star taken minutes after the fight.

He was performing in China. The 28-year-old star is said to be in very critical condition.

“During the performance, he noticed a fistfight in the crowd and went to go break it up – when someone swung a bottle right into his moneymaker, causing several cuts, including a deep gash on his lip,” the report says.

The next day after the incident, which also ended in arrests for the fans who started the fight, Raz-B would not wake up, TMZ says in a separate post.

“R&B singer Raz-B is currently on life support in a hospital in China, just one day after he was smashed in the face with a bottle at a nightclub,” it notes.

He was found unresponsive by his bodyguard, who, after several attempts at waking him up, called 911.

Toy Jones, the star’s publicist, confirms the news, saying, “He is in a coma and needs as many prayers as possible.”

“We're told doctors tested for brain activity and determined the situation was dire. Sources say Raz is breathing from a ventilator and has been slipping in and out of consciousness,” TMZ adds.
