The QwikFab Beast can create layers at 400 mm/s and has a large build volume as well

This is a product that wasn't likely to last the week without at least some general acknowledgment by the world at large. After all, it has three things that most other FDM printers don't: multiple extruders, a large build volume, and a very fast print speed.

To be more specific, the 3D printer can create items as big as 300 x 300 x 600 mm / 11.81 x 11.81 x 23.62 inches. Most printers have that much, if even that. In fact, even the MakerBot Replicator Z18 only has 305 x 305 x 457 mm / 12 x 12 x 18 inches.

As far as multiple extruders go, the QwikFab Beast (QwikFab is the Singaporean company, Beast is the product name) has two.

As for the print speed, it is of 400 mm/s. Some 3D printers move at a tenth of that speed, and most don't reach 300 mm/s at all.

The QwikFab Beast also has the following specs: 100 micron resolution (nothing special here at least), a heated build plate, ARM Cortex-M3 32-bit micro-controller, 1/128 microstepping drivers, and a new cord management system (QwikFab is patenting it). The Simplify3D software runs everything.

Clad in a polycarbonate shell, the QwikFab Beast 3D printer should sell for under $10,000 / €7,450 when it becomes available in September. It will be put up for crowd-funding then, and we'll likely come back to it, with some new information. It is intended for businesses.
