Sony has confirmed SingStar Volume 2 will come out in Europe on June 20. The PlayStation 3 game will come complete with more songs and a few new features.

The main new addition to the game will be a new "harmony duet mode." What that means is that now two players will be able to combine the power of their soothing voices to perform those hard-to-get-right tracks that the game features. Of course, the developers are eager to show off the new feature to players, so there will be more songs in the game that have the profile for harmonization, like California Dreamin' from the Mamas and the Papas, or We All Stand Together, created by Paul McCartney and Celebration by Kool and the Gang. Other songs too can be approached using the newly introduced duet feature, but the results will be more clearly felt on the above tracks.

SingStar Vol. 2 also plans on offering support for the Remote Play feature, which enables the user to play the game on the PlayStation 3 using the PlayStation Portable and a working Internet connection. The most obvious use is to access the SingStore remotely, choose the songs that you want to download and set the download to begin so that the songs are all downloaded and ready when you want to play the game.

The PSP can also be used to access the social network built around the game, called My SingStar Online, where you can post video and text messages, as well as leave comments on the contributions of other players.

There are even rumors that the new game will also include wireless microphone sets to enhance the singing experience. It's certainly going to include new tracks, from bands like The Killers, Kaiser Chiefs and Gorillaz, as well as from individual artists like Eminem.
