PLAY STATION

SingStar Vol. 2 Announced for PlayStation 3

- Expect new songs, play modes and a lot of fun

By: Calin Ciabai, Games Editor

All the SingStar fans are in for a treat this summer since SCEE has announced the release of SingStar Vol 2 for PS3. The game promises to bring a
major update, quite a bunch of new songs and improved performance, as well as an even more addictive gameplay than the previous installments.

30 new tracks will be available in the second volume of SingStar, and the featured artists include big names such as The Killers, Eminem, Kaiser Chiefs or Gorillaz (and many more, of course). Also, a harmony duet mode will be made available following the game's release, and it plans to add a bit some difficulty to the karaoke singing: two players will sing different lines of a song at the same time, showing off their harmonizing skills. Of course, being a new mode, it needed its own new tracks, so Kool and the Gang - Celebration, Paul McCartney & the Frog Chorus - We all Stand Together and The Mamas & The Papas - California Dreamin’ have been included.

As if that wasn’t enough, SingStar Vol. 2 also includes Remote Play functionalities with PSP. Using PSP and a wireless Internet connection, players will be able to access various areas of the game such as the SingStore (in order to download new songs) and My SingStar Online (in order to be up to date with everything that's happening in the SingStar World).

Also, as you probably know already, the Online community offers the (potential) chance to become a real star over night if you upload your performance and it is a breathtaking one. Of course you will be able to rate others' performances, so if SingStar Vol. 2 won't make you famous, it will definitely turn you into a great music expert.

Unfortunately, we don't have an exact release date – all we know is that it will be launched sometime during this summer, when parties are hotter and could take full advantage of some karaoke.
