Star addresses Miley Cyrus controversy in first radio interview since it started

Sinead O’Connor will probably sue Miley Cyrus if she doesn’t take back what she said, about how her first open letter was a result of being crazy but, in the meantime, she’s also picking a fight with Simon Cowell.

Speaking on Ireland’s The Late Late Show, Sinead blamed Cowell for “murdering” music. Rest assured though that he didn’t do it on his own: shows like Idol, X Factor, and Britain’s / America’s Got Talent are just as much to blame.

“I feel sorry for the murder of music and rock ‘n’ roll, which has happened because of the industry,” the “Nothing Compares 2 U” singer says.

“Because of Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh — they’ve murdered music. I stand to say it on behalf of every musician in the world and they’ll agree with me,” she continues.

Say what you will about Sinead and the somewhat gratuitous way in which she singled out Miley Cyrus (when there are countless pop stars she could have picked on to deliver the exact same message), but she talks some real sense right there.
