There are many situations when you need to save the data contained in your clipboard but, for various reasons, you forget. That means you can loose important information that maybe you cannot find subsequently, because they could have a temporary character, such as any type of random generated content.

Even if you are using a clipboard manager compatible with your own operating system, sensitive data could be lost due to a certain program or your computer RAM limitations. It is known that the CONTROL+C keyboard command ( which represents the pressing of C key while holding the Ctrl key) will copy the selected file or text to the clipboard in order to create a backup or to move the respective data in another directory for example. But what would you say if it were possible to also save a certain information while copying it by using a secure web service ?

ControlC website provides an interesting alternative to save the content of your clipboard automatically after you have performed the copy command (Control+C). After you create an account on the ControlC website (payed or free), you will have to download and install an application (compatible with your operating system) which will monitor your clipboard. The application is available for Windows, Linux and MacOS operating systems, as well as its source code.

When you copy a text into your clipboard, it will be automatically uploaded and stored on your ControlC account. You are allowed to share your stored text with other users, as well as to distribute it through RSS feeds. The text is encrypted using your plain text password as encryption key, while the clipboard content is uploaded to your account.

Practically, this idea of automatically transferring users clipboard content to their accounts on social networking websites could represent a new efficient form of building a high traffic and, as a consequence, this will determine the improvement of this types of websites' popularity.
