With Beta 5, the MEPIS team approaches a final and stable SimplyMEPIS 8.5. Updates to important packages such as Linux kernel or Mozilla Firefox are also present in this development release.

There is some work to be done on MEPIS components, but the major packages are locked in to what may be their final versions.
