Simplicity Linux 13.7 Is a Light and Beautiful Distribution
Don't be fooled by the small size, because it packs a lot of useful software
Simplicity Linux, a Linux distribution based on Puppy and which uses the LXDE desktop, is now at version 13.7.The final version of Simplicity Linux implements a lot of new features, and most of them are very important.
“There are many differences between Simplicity Linux 13.4 and Simplicity Linux 13.7. This is the first version of Simplicity Linux based on LXPup rather than Carolina or Saluki.”
“We have a new, more back to basics UI. The Cairo Dock bar has gone, and now we’re using the standard dock from LXDE. Speaking of LXDE, we are moving from XFCE to LXDE because it is noticeably easier on laptop batteries, but we feel the differences between ‘look’ and ‘feel’ are minimal,” reads the official announcement.
Highlights of Simplicity Linux 13.7:
• Gslapt is now used as the package manager;
• Skype 4.2 has been integrated;
• VLC has been updated to version 2.0.7;
• Mozilla Firefox has been updated to version 22.0
