14 DAY TRIAL // Count on Simon Cowell to always think of everything: on last week’s X Factor final, he already had Christmas presents for the other three members of the judging panel, Cheryl Cole, Dannii Minogue and Louis Walsh – the gift of Botox.
In a recent interview with Sharon Osbourne, cited by the Toronto Sun, Walsh revealed he was completely taken by surprise by the present. Not that he didn’t expect to get one but because he’d never use the one he got.
According to Louie, before taking to the stage for the X Factor finals, Cowell told the other 3 judges he had a special surprise for them, and then handed them sealed envelopes.
When he got home, he saw that he’d actually been offered $4,500 worth of Botox and he’s clearly not going to use it, Louie says, even joking that perhaps Simon got the wrong man /woman.
“Right before going on stage, Sharon, on the final he says, ‘I’ve got a present for you three,’ and he gives us envelopes... I got home and opened (it) – it’s $4,500 worth of Botox... he gave it to me. I think he gave it to the wrong judge!” Louie tells Sharon in the interview.
When she asks him if he’s joking about it, Walsh is adamant he’s dead serious. “No, I’m serious... for all three of us... I’d never use it,” he says.
Simon Cowell has been open about his love of Botox to make him camera-ready and, while Cheryl Cole is (presumably) too young to get the face-freezing injections and Louie says he’d never get them, Dannii too has vouched to grow old gracefully.
In September last year, the star revealed she had an addiction to Botox that stemmed from problems in her personal life but promised she’d gotten over it, saying she had accepted it was time for her to embrace growing old naturally.
All in all, Cowell’s Christmas presents for his fellow X Factor judges were more of a miss than a hit.
