The pop singer could be on the judge panel next season

In a conference call with reporters, the British music and television producer Simon Cowell announced his interest at bringing in Miley Cyrus on board for the American version of his hit TV show, The X Factor.

If Simon has any say into the matter, the “Wrecking Ball” singer might just twerk her way into the panel of judges in the next season, thus confirming her musical influence once and for all. The reason behind this decision? Simon explains “I recently met Miley Cyrus, and I really liked her. She has an opinion for sure.”

He thinks that Miley “would be really fun to watch,” but is this decision in fact aimed at bringing in front of the TV set Miley's younger and more numerous fan base? The X Factor has been having some increasingly disappointing ratings and Simon might be on the lookout for people to bring a little drama to the show. And we all know Miley could bring drama.

Apart from Cyrus, Cowell said that his dream team of judges would also include former “American Idol” judges Paul Abdul and Randy Jackson. “I would pick Paula and Randy from American Idol - they were my favorite judges because we had an incredible time together. It was never planned to be what it became, and it was really special.”

While he did confirm that The X Factor would be returning to the US for a new season, Simon Cowell hinted at some possible format changes to reinvigorate ratings. The most probable change will be that the show will be airing just once a week instead of twice.

At the moment, The X Factor US is airing the final episodes from its third season. The season finale is planned as a two-day event, with the first part airing on Wednesday, December 18 and the second part on Thursday, December 19.
