Simon Cowell Tries to Get Britney Spears to Dump Fiancé for X Factor Drama

After the more or less disastrous ratings for the first season of X Factor, which also resulted in a genuine bloodshed on the judging panel, Simon Cowell is determined to make the second season more successful, even if it means ruining Britney Spears’ life in the process.

Britney and Demi Lovato are the two new additions on the judging panel, but it’s Britney who will hopefully bring the big ratings if Simon has his way, according to a new report.

The latest print issue of Star magazine (story via CB) claims that he’s determined to push her over the edge just so that he can get his “loose cannon on TV” that would instantly translate into record ratings.

Sources tell the tab that Cowell has already found an angle to work, so he’s dripping poison into the pop star’s ear to dump Jason Trawick, her former manager, now fiancé and co-conservator with her own father.

Jason is always present on the set of X Factor, which means Britney is always on her best behavior and refusing to answer to provocations, says the spy.

This is precisely the last thing that Cowell wants: he needs to have Britney completely lose it in front of the cameras because he knows only scandal and controversy could make his X Factor leave competitors American Idol and The Voice biting the dust.

“Simon definitely feels like the show would be more fun if Jason weren’t there. He wouldn’t mind Britney having a big freakout on camera, but Jason is always there!” the unnamed spy tells Star.

The next logical thing is to have Britney distance herself from Jason and eventually break up.

“Simon is getting in Britney’s ear, trying to plant the seed for her to break up with Jason. He’s tried to intentionally put her in uncomfortable positions. Then he tries to keep Jason from stepping in, which damages their relationship,” the source explains.

According to the same insiders, the first results of this devious plan might have already been felt, with Britney walking out of X Factor auditions at least twice or thrice.

“If Britney and Jason broke up, Simon would be through the roof with happiness. He loves nothing more than a loose cannon on live TV,” the tipster concludes.
