American Idol and X Factor judge Simon Cowell is known for his party lifestyle, as well as for his arrogance and, some say, indifference to others. This time, it’s his neighbors in Beverly Hills that have a bone to pick with the British music mogul, as he seems bent to continue construction on his mansion – dubbed “Chateau Cowell” – to the exasperation of everyone else living in that area, the Daily Mail informs.

It’s not a little construction work that has brought the neighbors on the verge of desperation, they say, but rather the fact that Cowell has been renovating the house for the past five years. Even worse, he has no intention of stopping anytime soon either, neighbors say, which means the ruckus, dirt and disturbances will continue for much longer. To add insult to injury, Cowell also likes to party a lot at night, having guests over on a regular basis. All this has to stop.

“Construction’s been going on for five years and I’ve been near the end of my rope on many occasions. And we’ve been told the construction is not over yet. Apparently Simon didn’t like the way two or three of the rooms have turned out, so he’s completely redoing them. It’s the building project that never ends.” neighbor Judy Wolf says for the Mail. All these disturbances have already forced other residents to call the police with complaints like traffic violations, level of noise from the constant night-parties and dirt from building work.

“I have spoken to several builders and workers at the house, and they say they have to park in the street because Cowell doesn’t want them on his drive. Of course, what he says goes, but what Cowell doesn’t realize is that it is making life miserable for everyone else on his street. It is not neighborly at all. You could say he’s become the neighbor from hell.” another resident, who chose not to reveal his identity, says for the same publication.

Simon Cowell bought the mansion in 2004 for £3.2 million, but has moved in only recently. When he did so, the star said he finally felt “at home,” a feeling his neighbors do not reciprocate, as they claim he is making it very hard for them to like him even in the least bit. As of now, Cowell has not responded to the latest allegations.
