The development team at Maxis and publisher Electronic Arts are launching a special television-focused spot for their upcoming SimCity, designed to reveal the core ideas of the game to an audience that might not be familiar with the city building genre.

The television 30-second spot shows a young mayor and reveals the various ways in which a player can approach SimCity, aiming either for serious development or funny side effects.

The game will be the first in the series to feature curved roads and will give players more options to track their citizens and then focus on delivering the goods and businesses that they require to thrive.

Series creator Will Wright has also recently talked about the SimCity experience and the fun he’s having with the new game.

SimCity will be launched exclusively on the PC in early March.
