Earlier this year (in March, to be precise) Electronic Arts put forth the system requirements for the Mac version of SimCity, the newest installment in the publisher’s acclaimed city building franchise.

Based on EA’s wording at that time, we relayed to our readers that SimCity would require only Snow Leopard to run. That’s Mac OS X version 10.6.

Per a Popherald.com report, Electronic Arts said in March, “Any user with Snow Leopard and a Core 2 processor will be able to enjoy SimCity for Mac.”

Not anymore. The official specs list up on Origin reveals that you actually need Lion now, or OS X version 10.7. Well, at least the hardware requirements are in place. Full specs sheet below, courtesy of the official SimCity Origin page.

Oh and, for those of you who didn't hear yet, the game is coming out on August 29.
