SimCity OS X Release Dated for February 2013

SimCity is coming to the Mac as a digital download via Origin in February 2013, Electronic Arts has announced. Gamers looking to get a head start can visit www.SimCity.com/beta to sign-up for the SimCity beta.

A first for the SimCity franchise, players’ decisions will now have repercussions that extend beyond their city limits, said EA.

Players will be tasked with addressing real global challenges, including climate change, natural disasters, and the search for renewable resources. Players have an important choice to make, too: compete or collaborate to shape the world.

Lucy Bradshaw, senior vice president and general manager of EA’s Maxis Label, addressed the millions of SimCity fans, saying “we’ve been listening and can proudly say that your calls have been answered. SimCity has a long legacy on the Mac and the team at Maxis is ensuring that it will be the deepest, richest and most accessible SimCity game yet.”
