Players believe that the sim engine has big problems with more mechanics

Amid a number of reports that the core simulation engine of SimCity is fundamentally broken, the development team at Maxis acknowledges that there are some elements of the game that are not as intuitive as they might be.

Guillaume Pierre, the lead gameplay scripter, writes a rather complex blog post that talks about trams and tries to explain the exact way that the game determines how to model public transport, one of the most important aspects of an efficient city.

The information is interesting, but intrepid gamers have also uncovered problems with the way citizens are being handled by SimCity.

It seems that they lack a permanent job or home and that their overall movement in the city fails to take into account their needs as Maxis advertised before the game was launched.

All those who register SimCity until March 18 will get access to a free title form the PC Electronic Arts catalog.
