While it's highly unnatural
for EA to be announcing games on the Japanese market, this seems to be the case with the latest Sim City. Developers plan on releasing the cult simulator franchise in the land of the rising sun, and what better way to do this than with a Nintendo DS game. The original Sim scheduled for release in winter is said to be a completely different title, by no means a port or an addon. Latest Famitsu issue fills in the details.
Based on the Sim City 3000 computer title, Sim City DS features full stylus controls, along with mini games and a new advisor character to assist you while designing a city. There main play modes are bound to make the simulation as interesting as possible. In "Build a New City" you start a city up from ground zero, without any deadlines or limitations other than your own ability and creativity. EA made sure the game will appeal to Japanese audience with the "Save the City" mode, where players take charge on a city located somewhere in Japan, as they complete missions involving traffic jams and other issues. To increase interactivity, the "Sisters City" mode lets you chat with other players and handles the trading of "landmarks."
