Aimed at LAN party gamers on the go

Most high-end and bleeding-edge PC configurations are characterized by oversized chassis that are meant to inspire awe and 'live up' to the significant performance capabilities housed within. Knowing this, companies have been putting special effort in developing new, imposing and overall good-looking towers or mid-towers. Unlike them, SilverStone seems to have had something else in mind when it made the Sugo SG07. While using the mini-ITX form factor, this chassis can actually house components more powerful than those of most mainstream configurations. TechPowerUp managed to get a closer look at it.

SilverStone's casing was extensively worked on by engineers so that it could fit inside all required elements of a case while also providing a stable airflow and maximum portability. In order to demonstrate this capability, the company brought along, at CeBIT, a configuration aimed at LAN Party Gamers on the go. While easy to carry, the PC used the DFI Lanparty MI P55-T36 running an Intel Core i7 860 CPU and 4GB (1GB x 2) DDR3-1600 memory from A-DATA, namely XPG Plus Series memory modules.

These components are easy enough to put in, but what is especially notable is the fact that the installment could actually handle, and fit inside an ATI Radeon HD 5970 graphics card. Not only that but even a SilverStone TOB02 Slim Blu-Ray drive was thrown into the mix.

All these components were somehow packed inside a frame measuring 222mm (W) x 190mm (H) x 350mm (D) and were fueled by a SilverStone custom 600W power supply. The case had a quiet 180mm fan on top, plenty of space above the CPU for installing a strong cooler, a removable dust filter and even a sliding air duct on the side.

Truly, this case is ideal for LAN party goers, with the only drawback perceivable being the lack of an integrated handle. Of course, there are such things as external harnesses or handle systems, so this should not be too big of a problem.

The case itself is expected to revolve around $150 and, while the exact availability is undisclosed, it is believed that the SilverStone Sugo SG07 will debut soon.
