SilverStone Launches Efficient SFX Modular Power Supply

Small form factor (SFF) systems have become very popular during the past 5 ~ 7 years. Shuttle was one of the most active supporters, but many manufacturers now make various SSF cases with efficient and good-looking designs.

The problem with these cases is that they often come without the necessary power supply unit or the one integrated comes with unsatisfactory efficiency.

In these situations, or when the supplied PSU breaks down, the user is forced to find a replacement, but the PSU market doesn’t really have a diverse SFF PSU offering.

SilverStone’s new Strider ST45SF-G PSU comes in the SFX form factor that means it will be compatible with most SFF cases requiring a smaller than standard ATX PSU.

This one is a completely modular model which should help improve the case airflow and reduce clutter and it also has a single 12V power rail.

The rated power is 450W and it has an impressive 90% efficiency.

It comes with an 80mm cooling fan and the slated price is $116 (95EUR).
