Rugged HDDs can be a very useful tool for many people, so Silicon Power made on for travelers, sport enthusiasts, and businesspeople.

Called Armor A30, the storage device communicates with PCs over USB 3.0 and has a case made with silica gel accents, for durability.

Indeed, the Armor A30 can survive most drops, to the point where it is compatible with US military standards, up to MIL-STD-810G (transit drop test).

The insides are also made in a way that reduces the effects of shocks and impacts (advanced internal hard drive suspension system). No longer do buyers have to worry their 500 GB or 1 TB storage space will be ruined by bad sectors.

Silicon Power intends for the Armor A30 to be used with the downloadable SP Widget (7 major back-up and security functions). Sadly, pricing and availability remain undisclosed.
