Another SSD powered by a SandForce controller has appeared, courtesy of Silicon Power.

We have no availability dates or prices to impart, but we do know everything else worth knowing.

First off, there are 60 GB, 120 GB, 240 GB and 480 GB capacity options.

Secondly, the performance, allowed by SATA III (SATA 6.0 Gbps), can reach 550 MB/s when reading and 500 MB/s during writes.

Thirdly, the Velox V60 SSD, as the drive is called, has TRIM, as well as NCQ and RAID support.

Not only that, but built-in SMART, DureWrite, wear leveling and ECC are part of the feature set, as well.

Finally, the Silicon power Velox V60 is reasonably shock and vibration resistant and, though it comes in the 2.5-inch form factor, gets a 3.5-inch adapter bracket too.
